Great News!

 Well, I have great news! So, Long story short, I have a medical grade air mattress. Does it do lateral Rotation? No! Does it have True Low Air Loss? No! Does it have a Blower? No! It's a Medline A20 Alternating Pressure Mattress. Nothing fancy. It has a pump with two big hoses that go to my air mattress. It has a Low Pressure Alarm. It has a dial to adjust the firmness, and a switch to select either alternating, or Static mode. That's it! But I have an air mattress, and It's comfortable! VERY comfortable! That's what mattres. If I end up being in serious of Lateral Rotation, well that's when I' will end up in the hospital, and of course the Stryker InTouch beds do lateral Rotation. Other than that, Not happenin. But I don't really care.


   The point is, I got my Alternating Pressure Air mattress, and I'm very thankful for that!  We're not working on getting the setting for firmness and softness adjusted correctly, and that's going to take a while, but we will get it I think. I'm very grateful for the folks at James Medical who got it to me quickly!!


   Anything else of interest going on? Well my sinuses decided that they'd hatch an infection on Christmas Eve, and I came down with a Fever. Needless to say, Christmas Eve, and Christmas were pretty Miserable, but I went to visit with my sister, and I got some very very special gifts! One which I will share with you soon! Let's just say, It has to do with my Golf cart which needs new batteries, because the batteries in it are down right cold and dead! Dead as a rock! But that's going to get fixed very soon, and It's my sister who gets the credit for that, and all the other people who have taken part in this! THANK YOU 


   As for the sinus infection, well, that's what antibiotics are for, and they're doing a great job! Doxycycline is great stuff, and I've always felt better when I've needed antibiotics, and the Dr. puts me on Doxycycline. Especially last August, when I came down with a BAD infection. Mom thought I'd end up buying a stay in the hospital for that one, but we avoided it. Being in the hospital when you need it is ok, but if you can avoid a stay in the hospital, you should do so because of the risk of developing more problems while you're there. 


   It's horibly cold, and wet out today, as it has been for the last few days, so I'm staying inside. I'm not up to going out in 30 degree weather! That's hard on my body! I don't know anybody who's body doesn't take an impact from this type of weather! But mine sure does! 


   Anyhow, I'm doing pretty well, and I'm just thankful that I got my air mattress, because I'm doing better on it! So You all have a great day, and to the one viewer who's reading this blog!!!!!    Because of this visualized activity on my blog posts, I'm going to continue posting, and my posts will get more frequent as well! This is good news for my blog! THERE IS ONE VIEWER!!! And for that, I am extremely grateful!

Not much new happening!

    Well, it's been several days since I poted in the blog, and I figured that I should go a head and post. There's been really nothing new that's happened lately. We've had a big snow storm, and have a few inches of snow on the ground. If you know me, I HATE SNOW! What normal person likes snow? I don't! I wasn't able to go to Physical Therapy because of the snow, and my Respiratory Therapist wasn't able to bring a replacement VOCSN Ventilator, from where mine stopped working. So I have a piece of garbage Trilogy EVO ventilator! The Trilogy EVO ventilator is truly a horrible low grade ventilator, and It's really meant for a patient who's on BIPAP, or some other form of Non-Invasive Ventilation. I don't know why these companies make ventilators with passive leaks, and then claim that they can be used for trach patients as well as the Non-Invasive Ventilator patients. They shouldn't be using this type of ventilation for a trach patient. EVER!!!...

Update on the Air Mattress Ordeal!

    Well, my Dr. FINALLY got around to getting in the script for the medical grade air mattress!! He FINALLY got script in, and now we just have to wait to see what my lovely medical insurance will do with the script.  As I have said many times before, Medical insurance doesn't usually pay for those unless you get a pressure ulcer, and you're already in trouble!!! Once that happens, then they'll think about possibly covering a medical grade air mattress! Until then, you're on your own. But we can always hope for the best right? Hahahahaha! Don't you just love America Healthcare? I DO!!!! They'll see you through, and you'll be just fine! ((NOT))!!!!!!
