Reflux, Aspiration of that reflux, and the neglect of the Drs. to do anything about it!

   Good afternoon everybody!!! We're coming to the end of 2023, and we're about to enter 2024! What's Your New Year's resolution? I'll tell you what mine is!!! You see, I'm too nice to people.  I'm not the kind of person who really yells at people, or causes problems to get what he needs. Well, sometimes you have to be a problem to get rid of a problem. Sometimes you have to be a squeaky wheel to get the greese. Here's the thing! I have very severe acid reflux. I've been on many medications to try to solve the reflux, and nothing does anything to help! I've had tests including a probe they put into my esophagus, to record the PH Level, which ended up being a horrible nightmare. Oh yeah, and by the way, those results that the probe got, WERE HORRIBLE!!! I had an Upper GI that showed reflux. I've had an endoscopy, and esophageal manometry testing, and It wasn't all that good! I've had a gastric emptying evaluation which wasn't good either! Gastroenterology has put me on medication after medication, all to no effect. I have a feeding tube, and a tracheostomy, and am already prone to Pneumonia.

   Here's the issue! I'm having reflux, and it's entering my lungs. It's already caused severe problems a while back, and let's just say, we managed to treat that at home, but BARELY!!!!! But the last week, I've had FOUR episodes of my stomach contents entering my lungs! FOUR EPISODES!!! I'll be sleeping comfortably, and all of the sudden, I'm waking up, and my lungs are ON FIRE!!!! And then It's a mess trying to get the stuff out of my lungs! I'm on a ventilator, and I have a cuffed tracheostomy tube, but it's getting past the cuff, and entering my lungs. 

   Here's the part that angers me!!! It's the Drs. at the UK Clinic in Lexington Kentucky who are at fault for doing NOTHING!!!! They talked about doing a J-Tube, to bypass my stomach, because my stomach isn't working out for me so well. They talked and talked about it this year. and this was months ago, and I haven't heard from them about it since June. I saw a dietician in September, and she even said I would do better with the J-Tube! Yet It's almost January, and now this is getting dangerous!!!! The last thing I need is to get aspiration Pneumonia. I already have a weak immune system. I'm sick enough as it is! Well, I'm tired of waiting!!! I'm waking up at night, my lungs are on fire, and I don't feel right, for the rest of the day. Tuesday, I'm calling the GI Dr. and I'm going to yell at her, and tell her what's going on. I'm going to tell her she had better do something, or there will be action taken against her, and the whole UK Clinic!!!! They are doing this, because of the stupid General Surgeon, who when that Esophageal probe turned into a problem for me, this quack thought I was a drug seeker faking it for attention. I spent six days In ICU! My vitals were through the roof, I was on Fentanyl, I went home with no pain meds, was a train wreck, and saw the Primary Care Physician several days later who saw me, and who put me on Morphine which I was on for almost two weeks, and this quack has the nerve to see me as someone wanting attention? For goodness sakes, I'm medically fragile, on a ventilator, with a feeding tube! I have multiple, and I DO MEAN MULTIPLE medical conditions. I've had the code blue button pressed on me before. I've had numerous operations. I have congenital conditions. And you say I'm faking this? You think I'm coming in for drugs?

   Let me tell you something! I HATE DRUGS!!!! I hate Fentanyl! I hate Morphine!!!! When you're in the hospital, and you need Morphine, or Fentanyl, You can safely say, "LIFE SUCKS!!!" Because that stuff makes you feel HORRIBLE!!! But this Dr. now has them believing that nothing is wrong with me, when the tests clearly show there is something VERY wrong with my digestion! My stomach doesn't empty right. My stomach acid level is through the roof. My esophageal testing was HORRIBLE!!! He even admitted it! 

   Yet, Here we are! I'm not routinely aspirating my stomach contents into my lungs! This could be a matter between LIFE OR DEATH!!!! That stomach acid is just that! ACIDIC!!! If enough of it gets into my lungs, It can burn my lungs, and I can die!!! So My plan is to Call Tuesday and tell them to set up the procedure for the J-Tube, or find me someone who has enough brains to realize the serious nature of the situation, and do the procedure.

   In essence, My New Year's resolution is to stop trying to be a people pleaser, and to be harsher, and make people understand what I'm trying to say!! To make people understand that I'm not playing games with them. I'm not fooling around!!!!! Do you think I like having all these issues?? NO!!! I DOWN RIGHT HATE IT!!! My lungs are on fire when I get woken up by the stomach acid!!!! And then my lungs are not right for the rest of the day! Yes, I'm doing treatments to see if I can clear anymore of my stomach contents out! But I can only clear so much out! 

   I do want to give you a positive note! The air mattress is working GREAT!!! IT IS WORKING GREAT!!! I'm comfortable! I'm sleeping better, except for the stomach acid issues. But as for the air mattress, It is comfortable! You're talking about to the point, where I'm dreaming so clearly, and I wake up feeling more rested! Thank you to my DME, James Medical!!!
