WHERE IS MY NELLCOR OXIMETER My DME is suppose to be getting me?

OK, so we have a quetion that I'm starting to raise. I'll explain to you what that question is, and why I'm asking it?

So, a few weeks ago, I requested my pulmonologist to write a script for a new pulse Oximeter. SPECIFICALLY Nellcor brand. My Nellcor Puritan Bennett N-600 X Oximeter that I bought a few years ago is now giving out. My DME gave me a Masimo RAD 8 oximeter, but I never really liked that oximeter. It had LEDs, instead of an LCD display. It didn't have that many nice features. The probes suck on the Masimo oximeters. The alarm isn't that loud. It's just not my definition of a good pulse ox. So what did I do? I bought a well known good pulse oximeter by Nellcor Puritan Bennett, and It worked from 2020 to 2023 which is fairly decent. But now it's giving out.

So a few weeks ago I told my Dr. to write a script for a new Nellcor oximeter. They got it to my DME, and two weeks ago, I asked Becky my Respiratory Therapist about it, and she said she's trying to find one that my insurance will pay for. Well, It's been two weeks since, and she sent me a Masimo Radical G, a little oximeter to use until she can get my Nellcor Oximeter. But I don't like the Masimo ones, and one week is ok, but it's been two weeks.

Let's discuss the things I don't like about this pulse ox. For one, the volume on this oximeter is not nearly as loud as it should be. Second of all, the tiniest bit of motion throws the machine off, and it won't read. Third? The numbers on this thing are so small, I can't see them. You're talking about TINY! REMEMBER, I'm Legally bling! This oximeter has proven itself to be an accessibility issue. I can't adjust alarm limits. I can't adjust date or time. It all has to be done for me. It's a touch screen, and that's one thing I like about it, but It is not a very big touchscreen.  And if you have the monitor powered off, for example, if you're charging it, THERE IS NO CHARGING INDICATOR LED! I kid you not! Unless the pulse oximeter is turned on, you won't know for sure that it's charging.

Medicare? If you people make finding a good oximeter that you'll actually accept that hard? YOU ALL SUCK!!!! YOU SUCK PERIOD!!!! If you wait until a patient has a pressure ulcer to let them have an alternating air mattress, and a patient who is at high risk for skin breakdown, who's on a ventilator, tube fed, and has neurological conditions still won't get one unless they develop a pressure ulcer? YOU SUCK!!!! That's just scratching the surface of how much MEDICARE SUCKS!!!!! Medicare is a down right train wreck. A PATHETIC TRAIN WRECK!

In other words, I STILL DON'T HAVE MY Nellcor Oximeter, but for now I have a little tiny thing that if I need adjustments on it someone has to help me. I get Becky is working her hardest, but bottom line is I need a GOOD oximeter I can actually SEE! My good old Nellcor Puritan Bennett NPB-600X was a VERY bright LCD Display with large numbers, and a VERY loud alarm system! You are talking about hospital quality!

In other news, this weekend has been uneventful, and quiet. Nothing much going on with me! Not much to say on the blog, but I thought just to get another post on the blog, I'd post! I decided that I'd post JUST TO POST! So thank you all for reading! Have a great day, and GOD BLESS!
